Experience "To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly" - Henri Bergson Psychotherapy and Counselling I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor and a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (www.psychotherapy.org). I have been practising psychotherapy and counselling in London, West London and the City for over nine years. I have extensive experience of working short-term and long-term to address a wide variety of issues, from crisis resolution to ongoing therapeutic work. I have worked independently and also within four different organisations. I also teach, carry out research, run workshops and give private lectures in different organisations in London. While I set up and grew my private practice, I worked as a long-term counsellor in two different settings: - The Metro Centre, a London-based charity that promotes the health and well being of all people experiencing issues related to sexuality, identity or gender.
- Equilibrium88, a long-established centre where a diverse team combine to offer a wide range of therapies from Hypno-birthing, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture to long and short term Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I also have extensive and first-rate experience of working therapeutically in a mental health setting: - I practised short-term counselling for Umbrella, a mental health charity. The setting was a residential crisis centre, which people can access in an emergency as an alternative to a stay in a psychiatric hospital. I provided short-term, intensive crisis counselling for people suffering from a very wide range of problems.
- I also managed several services including a mental health support service for One Support, a leading London-based mental health and social care provider.
In both contexts I carried out multi-disciplinary work closely involving the NHS. This included consultant psychiatrists, crisis teams, community mental health teams and general practitioners. Other related work I currently teach counselling skills and facilitate seminars on Gestalt Therapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in London. I give private lectures and create and run highly-regarded workshops for individual psychotherapists and institutions in London, including the NHS. I am a member of the executive committee at the Multi-Lingual Psychotherapy Centre (www.mlpc-uk.org), which was founded seventy years ago by a group of psychotherapists and analysts, writers and academics from various fields to explore multilingual practice. I have given several lectures on my research into this subject. To book an appointment or make an enquiry
